STEM ED Research Group

Through tailor-made consultancies & or CSR programs, we facilitate, create, support & contribute to unique research collaborations/assignments (regional and or global) to inform inclusive & transformative policy, practice & interventions for teaching, learning and assessment of STEM disciplines at all levels of learning in the African continent. One unique key focus of our STEM ED Research will be systematic research by Africa's educators including STEM teachers at primary & secondary school level. We aim to build partnerships and collaborations to support teacher research which should expand the opportunity for Africas Teachers to gain more insights into their teaching and learning for the purpose of becoming more reflective practitioners.

Through tailor-made consultancies and corporate social responsibility programs, we facilitate, create and support unique collaborations between African governments, local and international institutions, NGOs and other regional/ global entities to shape and implement research-informed, evidence-based and contextually grounded interventions for professional learning of STEM teachers and tutors at primary, secondary and tertiary institutions (mainstream & TVET).

STEM Education for Deaf and hard in hearing learners in Rwandaon-going

In partnership with Media for Deaf Rwanda we are formulating for implementation an intervention research aimed at improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment of mathematics and sciences by deaf and hard of hearing learners. The two organizations will be signing a tripartite collaborative agreement with National Technical Institute for Deaf at the Rochester Technical Institute - USA

Our Technical Lead Dr. Herine Otieno, supported by some of our team members, is working as part of the IDEMS International Education team to shape and implement a number of mathematics interventions targeting teachers and learners in The Gambia, Kenya, South Sudan, Niger and Rwanda.

Through customized consulting arrangements and unique partnerships with regional and or global entities, we facilitate and harness efforts towards the shaping & implementation of ‘science of learning’ informed in-school and after school learner interventions aimed at improving interest, engagement and learning outcomes for STEM related disciplines. .

STEAM Online Academyon-going

An online school for learners drawn from Africa and beyond. In partnership with Four Ferries a Finland based entity, the academy is currently implementing its first intervention: a self directed, remotely supported (tutors) mathematics program powered by the Four ferries mathematics learning platform e-mathstudio (e-mathstudio.com). This program Operates as an online school for learners drawn from Africa and beyond.

Digital mathematics stories through a Numeracy app.on-going

We are collaborating with IDEM International (through a post doc fellowship engagement) in the piloting & implementation of research based intervention to explore the potential impact of parent led digital story- telling and game based activity may have on development and reinforcement of numeracy and mathematical thinking at the early childhood learning stage.

Through customized consulting arrangements and collaborations, EduHubAfric seeks to work with entities including Ministries of Education in Africa to support current efforts aimed at improving & generating Afro-centered knowledge on the effective & efficient employment of technologies (including emerging technologies) to improve teaching, learning and assessment of STEM at different levels.

The RELI EdTech Equity projecton-going

EduHubAfric is currently consulting for RELI on a research intervention study titled The RELI EdTech Equity project. The study seeks to understand the extent to which RELI members consider equity in their design and deployment of EdTech solutions. One of the study's key outcomes will be a guiding framework on EdTech Equity for RELI members and other EdTech stakeholders in Africa.
